Description

Huagang tea region is the headwater source of Taiwan’s rivers, situated at an altitude of around 7800 feet. The tea gardens are located within pristine forests, making tea harvesting extremely difficult. Due to the cold temperatures, frost is common, and the area experiences very short sunlight hours, with clouds and mist shrouding the region year-round. The temperature remains low, with a significant difference between day and night, causing the tea plants to grow slowly. As a result, only two harvests occur annually, in spring and winter. These unique conditions produce tea leaves that are thick and rich in pectin, creating a viscous texture when brewed. The tea is known for its strong, distinctive mountain character, with a deep, lingering aftertaste and powerful returning sweetness. The water used to brew this tea is soft, sweet, and full-bodied, while the surrounding cold, ancient forest imparts a special mineral note, making Huagang tea truly one of a kind.
